I used to put people to sleep for surgery. Now I wake up to deals.

Before we ever owned a single door, Candice and I had built our lives in entirely different worlds. She worked in Texas television, shaping stories and leading teams. I was in the OR, managing airways and critical care, earning my Doctorate from TCU, and building an anesthesiology consulting practice that I still run today.

We didn’t know everything, but we knew enough to ask the right questions. So we built workflows. Checklists. Communication loops. We created a structure where there was none. Just like in the OR, every role, every action, every minute mattered.

We kept showing up. Over and over.

And it worked. Rents rose. Retention stabilized. The property turned. We beat our three-year pro forma in twelve months. When we exited, our investors won, and so did the community.

That 18-unit wasn’t just our first property. It was the blueprint.

And the system we forged there? We’ve sharpened it deal after deal.

That scaled from the first 18-unit to 102, then 256. Today, M Group Capital manages nearly 1,000 units and over $100M in assets.
